Product Description

The coolant reservoir is attached to the radiator and the engine with hoses and is a vital component of the cooling system. Its function is to store excess coolant fluid until required. When the coolant reservoir has issues, the engine might suffer from loss of lubrication, overheating and metal corrosion. Check your engine coolant every couple of weeks so you can spot any problems earlier.

Engine Overheating

If the coolant reservoir leaks or has any issues, the engine may not get enough coolant circulating through. As a result, you can expect your engine become overheated.

2"noscript"2

Coolant Odor From the Front of the Vehicle

If you smell the coolant odor (it’s slightly sweet) coming from the front of your vehicle, or gets worse, even circulate throughout the cabin, you may need to check the condition of the overflow tank.

Coolant Leak

The coolant reservoir will leak if it cracks or breaks due to old age or overheating. You should notice small puddles or drops of coolant on your garage floor or in your driveway.

Constantly Low on Coolant

People might not realize the reservoir is leak if the small leak on the reservoir is barely noticeable, but over time, they will cause the reservoir to empty out. So constant need to add coolant can also be caused by a leak.

General Instruction on How to Replace the Coolant Reservoir Tank

1. Turn off your car and allow your engine to cool down completely before doing the replacement

2. Remove the bolts and the reservoir, but do not remove the coolant hose first

3. Wrap a cloth around the hose before disconnecting it and allow the remaining coolant flowing back into the drain pan

4. Take out the damaged reservoir and drain the coolant off. Make sure to pour the fluid into a secure container and properly dispose it, as it is toxic

5. Reinstall the coolant hose to the radiator and tighten the clamp

6. Connect the other end of the coolant hose to the new coolant reservoir and tighten the mounting bolts

7. Refill the tank with new coolant and run the engine to check if function well

These are for reference only, we recommend you to ask the technician to do the installation.
